Billing
Please note billing is done based on the time the provider and office spends. We use the blocks of 15 minutes and each block is billed $100. If your visit exceeds the allotted time slot and you do not have all issues addressed, you must make another appointment because your insurance does not like to pay for longer visit in proportion to the time and resources.
Further, the time billed is complete time spent by the office. It is not the time you saw the doctor. Doctors have to work through multiple chart notes on your chart even before you are seen. After you are seen, the doctors must work with prescription reconciliation. The office have to spend time charting through all the notes and create a claim. Often pharmacies call back and request changes, sig clarifications, out of formulary appeals and so on and these activities too take time.
Given all these, we have a system which automatically deduces the time to bill and most of patients understand this. Yet, we get some patients who call and ask how come they received a bill for half an hour visit even though their visit was for 20 minutes.
Please note our billing rates are the most affordable.
Here are the Fair Health Consumer prices which are considered usual and prevailing rates. Please note we are at or below 50 percent of usual and customary rates and we do not charge facility fees.
