What is pneumonia?
Pneumonia is swelling (inflammation) of the tissue in one or both lungs. It's usually caused by a bacterial infection, but viruses, fungus, inhaling foriegn objects can cause pneumonia.
What are the symptoms of pneumonia?
Cough with phlegm
Difficulty breathing
Rapid heart beat
Fever, Sweating, shivering
Tired, unwell
Loss of appetite
Chest pain
What should I do if I have pneumonia?
Consult your healthcare provider immediately.
Stay hydrated with fluids.
Your healthcare provider will determine if you need chest x-ray, antibiotics.
Your healthcare provider will determine if you need to be hospitalized.
How can I prevent pneumonia?
Cover your cough, sneeze, discard used tissues immediately.
Frequent handwashing with soap and water.
Obtain vaccinations recommended by your healthcare provider.
Avoid smoking.
Pneumonia in the right middle lung.
