Walgreens Problems.

Many of patients who are on Medical assistance and who use Walgreens are facing a problem.

Walgreens tells the patients that Doctor/PA/NP/New Horizons Primary Care is not authorized by Medicaid to call in prescription.

Problem as explained to us by Walgreens corporate is a training issue at Walgreens.

Providers can be searched based on name, NPI, DEA and Medicaid ID. 

Typically prescriptions are sent with provider name. Name search for Medicaid is not working in Walgreens. Walgreens corporate is aware and State of Colorado Medicaid too is aware (Ticket Number 1319139 has been opened to track this and Walgreens has to do the fix as per Medicaid)

To help the pharmacist at Walgreens we are adding NPI, DEA and Medicaid ID in the prescription as pharmacy note.

If your pharmacy staff reports you that they are not finding the provider  show them this message. 

We have helped so far 8 patients with this problem. Every time the problem is Walgreens using untrained pharmacy staff who do not know how to run the prescription through Colorado Medicaid.  Every call takes us and patient a minimum of 40 minutes. Walgreens automatically disconnect phone after 20 minutes. That is an added hassle.  Every patient who joined the call was surprised to know Walgreens dropped the ball every time by using untrained pharmacy tech. 

So escalate this to pharmacist and ask them to open the prescription for you and ask them to read the instructions, NPI, DEA, Medicaid ID and ask them to run the prescription using one of those. 

 

If you are not able to get help from the big box called Walgreens, switch your pharmacy to neighborhood King Soopers and ask Walgreens to transfer the prescription or call us with a request to transfer the prescription. 

We have many unnecessary and fake  Google reviews on this problem and it is our morale that is getting effected when corporate medicine drops the ball. Please support us.

At the time of office visit, please present your insurance card.  We bill your visit to the insurance card you present. 

In the event of an error in your insurance, please let our front office staff know.

We are in network with most insurances. However individual plans may vary and not known till a claim is adjudicated.

We are a smoke free facility.

We need every patient to finish all the forms online and check in online if possible. 

Most visits start on time, so please plan to be at the office, fifteen minutes before your appointment.

Habitual no show patients are terminated from the patient panel.

We charge a no show fee.
