Diagnosing strokes

Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death in the United States and is a major cause of serious disability for adults. Physicians are trained to quickly diagnose stroke to prevent long term harm.

93 year old patient was brought to the clinic this week saying she was weak and had been to multiple  facilities. Patient  said she fell backwards and was immediately taken to an emergency room in Colorado Springs.

This had happened nearly ten days ago.

The patient had all the symptoms for a stroke and Dr. Kamat quickly confirmed the stroke through a  physical exam. ER had missed this despite running battery of tests.

To help the community we want every patient care giver to learn how to recognize stroke.
